InnovaCoat® GOLD
The InnovaCoat® GOLD conjugation kit allows antibodies, proteins and other biomolecules to be covalently attached to ultra-stable InnovaCoat® GOLD nanoparticles with just simple pipetting operations. The hands-on time for the InnovaCoat® GOLD conjugation procedure is about 2 minutes and the conjugate is ready to use within 15 minutes.
The InnovaCoat® protective coating completely shields the antibody from the metal surface reducing metal-antibody interactions and the risk of sub-optimal antibody performance (denaturation, loss of affinity).  Studies have shown that lateral flow assay sensitivity can be significantly enhanced through simply applying the InnovaCoat® technology.  Furthermore, the amount of antibody required per mL of InnovaCoat® GOLD is often less than that required for passive coating methods using naked gold.
InnovaCoat® GOLD covalent conjugates are more stable than those prepared by passive adsorption methods. Moreover, unlike passive methods, the coating procedure is not dependent on the isoelectric point of the antibody, and extensive trials at different pH values are not required; all antibodies react at a single fixed pH.
InnovaCoat® nanoparticles in this kit are supplied as a freeze dried mixture. The conjugation reaction is initiated simply by adding a solution of the antibody, which becomes attached (via lysine residues) to the InnovaCoat® surface.  InnovaCoat® GOLD can however be provided in a variety of formats (e.g. 10 OD liquid or as lyophilized nanoparticles) formulated to allow a one-step reaction with antibodies for bulk or custom orders. The kits available are designed for research use and for the development of diagnostic products, specifically for the screening of potential antibodies or small scale ‘proof of principle’ studies.
