Biological Description Fludarabine is a organic compound (purine analog) that inhibits DNA synthesis.Exhibits antiproliferative activity (IC50 < 3 μM in RPMI cells) and triggers apoptosis through increasing Bax and decreasing Bid, XIAP and survivin expression. Displays anticancer activity against hematological malignancies in vivo. Fludarabine (Fludara) can also induce pro-inflammatory stimulation of monocytic cells, as evaluated by increased expression of ICAM-1 and IL-8 release.
