Description: The polyclonal antibody reacts with human and mouse TLR7 and was generated using 14 amino acid residues near the middle of mouse TLR7. To date, at least twelve members of the Toll family have been identified. This family of type I transmembrane proteins is characterized by an extracellular domain with leucine-rich repeats and a cytoplasmic domain with homology to the type I IL-1 receptor. In the innate immunity system, TLRs recognize molecular patterns associated with microbial pathogens and induce antimicrobial immune responses. TLR7, similar to TLR3, 8, and 9, is localized to endosomal/lysosomal compartments and is reported to respond to single-stranded RNA and some anti-viral compounds. Immunoblotting with this antibody gives a MW of ~120 kDa in Daudi cells.
